Has anyone replaced the queen mattress with a sleepnumber bed? wondering if either style will fit. Radius and non-radius.  I kinda like the 4" foamtopper and droopy bed but hubby is starting to complain.  THanks

On camping worlds site they lista that sleep number makes a "short queen" for rv use that is 60x75.
There also is a premier model listed someplace on the site as well.   I assume they require AC power to run.  So my only concern would be how it would work when you don't have AC power.

Not sure what the exact dimensions are for the 171's current mattress and don't know if anyone on the forums have tried it or not.
A bored man and a garage full of tools, is a very dangerous thing.

Linda,

I am in process of putting my sleep number bed in my 171. My bed is a standard queen and laid in un-inflated it looks to fit. I just moved and have not as of yet found the box with the air pump for my bed so could not inflate it to make sure it will work.

Hopefully I will find the pump in the next day or so and get the bed inflated and see how the fit is. Will post the results once I do.

Gmandual,
The sleep number beds do require AC power but only to inflate initially and then only when you need to adjust the firmness. I found once set to the pressure I like, I have had to put air in my maybe once every two months or so as there is some minimal air loss over time. So inflate at home  before you leave on a trip and you should not have to inflate again.

The one thing I will need to figure out, assuming my bed fits ok, is where to put the air pump. It is not exactly small. There is AC power right next to the bed so that is cool. I am thinking I will put the pump under the bed and dill a couple of holes to route the power and air hose up above.

Might even add an AC plug under the bed so then would only need to get the air hose up to the mattress.

thanks Ron. I was thinking of doing the same for mounting the pump. I would appriciate to here how you make out with the regular queen.

Gman, that is the one I am thinking of. I also have a home sleepnumber bed and have only needed to adjust/add air a few times over a couple years. They are good but expensive.

Linda,

Unfortunately my full size queen sleep number bed does not fit in the 171. Unhappy

So I am going with my stand by camping air mattress with a 3 inch memory foam topper. Fits well and should be just about as comfy as the sleep number. Unfortunately have just about blow the budget so a new RV size Sleep Number is not going to happen anytime soon.
