Just completed the install of a second 160W Renogy Solar Panel mounted on custom brackets bonded to the rear curved roof surface of our RP177. This is similar to what I did on the front of the trailer except that in this case the unit is intended to be non movable in its horizontal installed orientation. Yesterday in south central BC it was mostly sunny with temperatures around 15 °C at mid-day. Output indicated 11A-13A on the MPPT controller. Now we can be reasonably comfortable running the fridge on battery while traveling on sunny days. Previously we have always shut the fridge off when towing. I guess I have just inserted these pictures in reverse order...

Just in case anyone is interested, if another podder with a similar model pod would like to see if this type of Solar Panel installation would work for them, has the resources to fabricate aluminum and complete the final installation, I would be more than willing to freely share the design and drawings that I have done for our RP177 HRE. This is on the understanding that the drawings are a guide only and the recipient takes full responsibility for the final product, installation and maintenance.
