I just purchased rpod 171. I'm at u-haul now and they said that my vehicle does not have the wiring that makes the brakes on the rpod actually break. I drive a RX 350. They can install a brake sensor that will make it stop ,is this necessary?

Your owners manual should cover it. In general, most use O/D, unless the transmission hunts for gears. Then drop out of overdrive.

We normally take it out of OD when hauling our 177 unless we have a heavy tailwind or a long downhill decent.  As furpod stated above, and as we have found out, our Explorer will continually go between gears if we are going uphill, in the mountains or in a headwind.
