I'm about ready to buy and install a 14"x21" vertical RV window for the side panel of the slideout.  Why R-Pod did not put one here is beyond me.  It should add a much larger field of view from the dinette.

eBay: RV Teardrop Tear Drop Trailer Windows (1) New 14" x 21" $87.10

I think the wall thickness is 2".

Has anyone done this?  Suggestions?

I will document the installation with pictures and share.

Thanks,

John B.

I might talk to FR before I cut a hole in the side of the slide. I am pretty sure no one has done it.

Why FR didn't put one there is possibly because there isn't room in the framing, but also, Pods are built to price point.

My guess is the wall thickness is 1 1/2 inches. Based on the hole I cut in my slide. But you do need to determine that before you order. Drill a small hole in the middle of where you want the window to be, measure. Cover with tape or silicone while waiting for window to get delivered.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I guess I will talk with FR R-Pod tech people to make sure putting an opening in that side panel would not cause any structural compromises.

I'll check for thickness.

If I decide to do this, I'll definitely share my experiences.

(Like the first slide - out after modification, the entire unit falls onto the ground!)

Later,
