No problem. Just trying to prevent massive traffic jams caused by people headed to FL who think we don't have any taxes at all down here <LOL>.

I really like where I live except for about 3 months of the year and I wouldn't mind spending those in Florida eventually so if it became an every year thing, I'd buy something like the units at Avon Park.  The cost of the units are small depending on how much you're okay with "roughing" it but it's the ongoing lot fee (which again is reasonable) that you're really buying into.   So from your info., I can "qualify" for Florida but I'd need to check into Virginia's laws......I'm still wanting to sell my house so if that happened and I rented in Virginia, hmmmm.

I don't know about VA laws but in MN, it doesn't matter if you own a home or rent. If you are in the State of MN 6 months + 1 day of the year, you have to pay MN taxes. But MN taxes are oppressive so VA might be more lenient.

I would check FL statutes, too. I remember we had to go through some process where we "declared our domicile" in FL. As I recall, we had to jump through some hoops like registering to vote, getting a FL driver license and license plate and some other stuff.
