New internal storage cabinet project started for our R177. Cabinet located LH Sidewall over foot of bed (rear of slide). This is work in progress so cabinet skeleton structure only shown at this stage. Two hinged doors are envisaged, one at front will not be accessible with slide out. Hence, need for second door on RHS cabinet. Updates will follow, see pictures.uploads/5689/IMG_0645.jpg, uploads/5689/IMG_0643.jpg, uploads/5689/IMG_0644.jpg

Looks good. Your skills will serve you well as a Pod owner. Customizing and making it better is part of the ownership experience for many..

You did a great job, well finished! I did not have the options you have for the forward support in our R-178 but the overall similarity is there.

I am just curious, how did you find the studs or internal members inside of the paneling, to screw into? Tnx. Phil

Not easy, some trial and error. I started by looking on the forums to see how the side panels were constructed and noticed approximate locations of the aluminum stiffeners then used a stud finder to try and find exact locations. I found my stud finder was a bit hit and miss as some of the stiffeners, particularly in the sidewall near the slide out roof, must have been extremely thin-little holding power. I also made some small exploratory holes that I was able to cover afterwards. I could not find any information on roof structure but I used the premise that there must have been stiffeners under the overlapping cosmetic (roof) slats and with the combination of sidewall and roof connections I managed to find enough attachments to make a fairly solid mounting. Originally I thought of using double sided VHB tape but did not have to go that route in the end.
