I cleaned the fan. Not easy, It was really grimy. I see what you meant thinking the thing would break..I solved that problem by releasing the little clips from up top, prying them lightly inward with a screwdriver. I've had the R-pod sitting in the drive for a long time with the fan running 24/7. From now I'm going to turn it off and close it overnight. I got a couple other fans in there which I run all the time. A friend told me about a product today you can get at Lowes. It's a bag you hang up, it's got some kind of black granuals that attract water and the bag fills up. I'm gonna check it out.

I don't do that it is an electric motor. Only real issue I ever had was the switch that tells fan vent open/closed stuck once. The fan didn't come on when I opened vent.

+1 inside. Put it back in starting opposite the spot Furpod is talking about and press.

From the inside.. If you look close, somewhere around the trim/rim of the screen, there is a raised spot to slide the tip of your finger under. Just pull straight down. It's kind of "creepy I am going to break it" feeling the first time, but once you get it out the first time, you will be comfortable with doing it.

It has plastic clips on it. Look at it. I remove and clean mine periodically. Be gentle.

The screen on my Fantastic Fan is dirty and looks rusty. Can it be taken out and cleaned or do I order a new one? Can anybody tell me how to get it out?
