Traveling from rough campsite to campsite, one might want the water filtered.
I added a 3M water filter. Fairly simple installation. Used the extra hose left on some drain T. Used it from the pump out-flow to the filter in-flow. Purchased 3-feet of 1/2 braided water hose; one nylon 3/4" pipe thread to 1/2" barbed - straight for water filter inlet; 3/4" pipe thread to 1/2" barbed - 90 degrees (EL) for water filter outlet; 1/2" to 1/2" barbed straight adapter to join the water filter hose to system hose.
Used an activated carbon filter. Teflon pipe seal didn't work, so I used a small bit of silicone to seal the hose adapters to the filter. That worked and kept the pressure up! I installed a hinge on the panel which covers the heater and water heater. The hinged edge should be trimmed at 45 degrees for the hinge to work properly. I simply use a 18" - 3/8" wood dowel to keep the plywood cover up when changing the filter. This was installed on our R-Pod 179. Photos say it all. The bed area has been modified for another major project which will be shared soon! Sharing some more of my modifications! John - Spokane |
