Had camped in BC Canada. Fridge, air, and water all on briefly. It tripped the campground breaker twice. Then we found out that they only had 20 amps. Heater element dead after that nothing else bad. Is it possible the overload fried the element? Nothing in rpod tripped or blew. Thanks. Tomcamper

It sound like a low voltage problem. This could cause to element to overheat. You are sure that the water heater was full of water? The campground was not up to electrical standards needed for present day RV's. Lark R-179 |

Thanks Lark. It is burned out; I did the empty tank thing twice previously. So now I check the water flow first by water from hot side and also the pressure relief valve. I think your explanation is probably the correct one. The third burnt element in five years!
