I recently picked a 2015 rpod 179. getting ready for 1st outing. problem is disconnected shore power, 1 week with nothing running batteries dead. dual battery hook up.?????

There are quite a bit of parasitic drains on your batteries at all times that will in fact completely drain your batteries like that.

If you're not connected to shore power all the time, you'll want to use a battery disconnect switch whenever you aren't using your Pod to turn off these drains.

I bought two GC2 (golf cart) 6 volt batteries from Costco for $85 each, wiring them in series, GC2 battery boxes from OReiley Auto Parts for $10 each.  The fit nicely on the battery platform on the tongue and give us LOTS more power.
