Guys,
My wife and I just traded in our 2011 Rpod for a Class A (Fleetwood Storm 28MH). We take delivery next week so I'll be leaving the group. Some of you may remember, through some mysterious process unknown to me, I was tapped as a Moderator a while back so there would be someone to keep the spam out of the forum. I have never had any communication with the Administrator of this forum but one morning after posting a message that someone needed to keep the spam out, I woke up and found the word "Moderator" next to my name and I had access to the backstage areas of the forum where you can remove messages, ban members, ban IP addresses, etc. So, with no guidance or instructions or anything at all, I figured out how to do that stuff and, hopefully, things have run pretty smoothly over the past months. Someone needs to fill that role now. There hasn't been much spam recently but from time-to-time there's a bunch of it to deal with. I have no idea how to contact the Administrator of this forum but maybe if one of you posts a reply to this message, the Administrator will see it and you will be the next Moderator <LOL>. We have enjoyed our rpod immensely and I have learned a lot from you guys. This is a great group and I wish you all safe travels and all the best for the future. Happy trails, -- Steve |

I have been a member here for about four years and have never owned a Pod. I did have a MPG which was a Pod knock off from Heartland. The members thought it was close enough to stay. For the last three years we've had a Gulfstream Visa 23RBK. Today I posted about a generator, my first post in over a year. While I am not a Pod'er, I check in once a month and read most of the posts. A lot of great knowledge to be gained here that applies to many campers, R-Pod or not. You may have changed campers, but your knowledge did not change with the brand. You still have much to offer. One of my biggest joys of this forum is reading post from those I consider friends when I was active here.

2011 Visa 23RBK pulled with 2010 Nissan Titan. 12.5 MPG when towing.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm not totally gone yet. We're on our first trip out with our new motorhome to Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground which is about an hour from our home. We've been here since Sunday.
I had meant to post some photos but I forgot to bring the camera-to-computer cable so I'll do that when I get home. In the meantime, I wanted to pass on some information about how the trade-in went with our rpod since it might help others when the time comes to trade. The dealer where we bought the motorhome originally offered us $5K for our 2011 177 that was in excellent condition and included the dome, cover, and WDH. That offer quickly jumped to $8K when we got up and walked towards the door to leave <LOL>. We were happy with $8K since we paid $12K for it new including the hitch, cover, and dome when we bought it in the spring of 2010. Our salesman sold our rpod the same day we traded it in for $9,500. We enjoyed our rpod a lot for the 4 years we owned it. The only reason we traded in for a motorhome is that we're both in our late 60's and it's getting harder for us to hitch up, work the stabilizers, dump the tanks, and all the other back un-friendly chores. The straw that broke the camel's back was when we traded in our 2008 Lexus tow vehicle for a 2013 model. Everything in the rear of the car is plastic so the electrical connection is up underneath the rear of the car, requiring me to lie on my back and squirm under the car so I can reach up and plug in. The motorhome either eliminates or makes tolerable all those hassles and will allow us to keep camping for more years to come. I'll post some photos when we get back next week. -- Steve |
