    Posted: 26 Aug 2012 at 11:20am
Greetings all

Last night we parked the pod next to the house and plugged in the electric to have the fridge ready in the morning for stashing cold foods. Imagine our surprise when the fridge light was blinking in the morning and the fridge was warm.

Hubbie had set the fridge to electric, and plugged it in using the converter. The battery is charged.

Thoughts, suggestions? Appreciate your help

What did he "plugged in using the converter"?

I can't for the life of me figure out what that means.

The fridge plugs into the 120v outlet in the access area outside the camper. No converter needed.

Did you check to see if the circuit breaker in your house that serves the line you plugged into was still on this morning?

I believe she means the adapter plug she would need to plug her 3-prong rpod cord into her 110 house receptacle.

OK, so you used an ADAPTER to connect your 30amp plug into a 15/20 amp receptacle.

The problem is there is a "converter" in your TT. And a person COULD use an "inverter" to plug the fridge into.

But neither have anything to do with what your problem may be.

1st, check the circuit breakers. On a 177 they are in the brown box mounted to the front (more or less) of the street side dinette bench. If the circuit breakers are ok, check the GFCI outlet on the end of the same bench. If it is ok, open the lower access panel on the outside of the slide behind the fridge, make sure the fridge is plugged in, and that there is power to that outlet.

If all those things are OK, turn the fridge off for a couple minutes, then turn it on again and then select A/C as the power source. It could be, if you/he did it in the order you said, you selected 120v when it wasn't available, and may have put the fridge in fault mode.

BTW, the "converter" makes 12v out of 120v, and an "inverter" makes 120v out of 12v. Our little TT's don't have an inverter, but many add them..
