Showed our next door neighbor our Rpod and she was very impressed. Then she mentioned I should be aware of mice. I remember reading about using softener tissues from time to time. Need some idea of when in the season to put them in the Rpod. Should they only be dispersed during the winter, when the Rpod is not being used, or should they be dispersed inside all the time as a preventative measure. Not sure I want to pop open a drawer and see a litter of critters. All suggestions are welcome.

The "how to prevent mice" debate is as active as the "should I cover or not cover the R-POD" debate. The best prevention is to take away all access to the inside of your camper. That's by filling and plugging all the holes underneath. It's best to use a high powered light inside, at night, while someone is underneath to see where the light is coming through. That being said, I've been using a product called Fresh Cab for years and never had an issue with mice.

Both my FR RV and R-Pod were unsealed (unfoamed) where the waste pipe holes were cut through the floor. Final inspection seems to have been very rapid without looking into unseen areas.

We use fine steel wool tucked into open cracks. It works well and prevents visiting critters like mice.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Now if I can just get Camper Sue to crawl under the Rpod at night, while I shine a light, all will be taken care of. I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. Safe Travels.

How about Camper Bob goes under the pod while Camper Sue gets to shine the flashlight? By the way, we've had our pod for over two years and haven't see any sign of mice in it even though we haven't done a darned thing to keep them out.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. Me, going under the Pod? Comes awfully close to being work. We're both retired but I'm older. Gotta respect the elderly. Safe Travels.
