Hi All I am the proud new owner of a 2011 R pod 173. I looked at two R-pods and two MPG's before I chose this one. this is my first store bought trailer and it replaces a home build tiny trailer. My tow vehicle is a 2009 Jeep Liberty. It came down to a 2009 175 and this one. This one won out because I wanted both a couch that could be used as a bed and a dinette. The 175 had a queen bed instead of a dinette and the slide out couch on the 175 is less than 5 feet long so it could not be used as an adult bed. So it was the 173. We have only taken it out once on a shakedown trip. It was a good thing we did because the ac gave us some issues. This is a used trailer and came with a limited warranty that would have been out if I discovered the problem with the AC in the spring. I am looking forward to having a lot of fun with this trailer Below is a picture of my trailer Happy podding everyone Sean |

Glad to have you along podding with everyone Sean.
I'm glad you got the opportunity to get a shakedown trip and catch that AC issue you mentioned. Cannot wait to hear stories about your camping adventures. And as always, I love seeing more Jeeps out there with their Pods!

I'm also comparing the MPG to Rpod. I've noticed that MPG's are a little less expensive. Amenities and build quality seem similar. Why did u choose the Rpod over the MPG?

I was looking at used units and my first choice was a MPG 184 but while I was trying to decide the dealer sold it to someone else. It is a good thing though because we realized later that the while the couch folded down into a bed it was only about 5 feet long so it was not suitable as a bed for most adults. We wanted two adult beds. Also the MPG's are heavier for the most part and my poor Jeep Liberty struggles on the hills a little now with my rpod 173.
