Has anyone installed the axle risers.
Couch's have an R-Pod I am interested in but it does not come with the risers installed. My local dealer warned me that the risers are extremely difficult to install, is that true? If you have installed the risers could you explain the procedure. |

We bought our 172 in July from Couch's and they had only received 1 unit with them at that time. They offered to install the risers for a very reasonable fee, but I can't remember the exact amount.
Might be worth them handling the install and receiving a full warranty on them.

We had the risers installed on our 172 when we picked it up at our Dealer,, they performed to work in less than 45 mins, complete cost 200.00 ! I thought this was reasonable.

I would definitely let Couch's do the install for you. Not hard at all, but no one is more familiar with these units than they are.
We got ours installed at the factory. Couch's charged us a $100-$150 upgrade fee. They are very reasonable with their service charges.

We are having the axle risers installed at the factory. I talked to Couches to make sure it didn't delay our r-pod. I was told no problem. I think it is a $100 extra. They said the 177 should be coming off the line on the 15th and they should be at Couches by the 19th or so.
We will know more next week.

Yup- I looked at my receipt and it was only $100 for the axle risers. Well worth it.

tsunami - if your dealer told you they were extremely hard to install, he was blowing smoke to get you to pay big bucks. Its a very easy procedure for them, and really not that difficult for anyone at home with minor mechanical skills. I replaced the axle on a utility trailer this year w/o a problem. A few bolts, that's it.

Not to confuse the issue, but there seems to be a difference between the axle risers and the 4" lift kit ???
Im very confused on this issue. Cindy (Pie_Pod) talked w/Couch's and there seems to be
some kind of a difference ??
We were having problems with getting the 4"lift kit done.(?)
They said there is a month delay for the "lift kit" and we would have to come back in the
spring to get them installed. Cost was much more that the axle risers.
The trip from Illinois to Ohio was the reason to go back in the Spring because we didnt want to turn around in a month and come back w/the Pod when winter weather is well upon us.
Im alittle confused about this issue.... can anyone shed some light ???
HAPPY PODing !!!
